The logo’s design relies on the beauty of two essential elements, the kundali, or Jyotish chart and a lotus.
The lotus has long represented the being’s struggle to uplift himself or herself from the muck of life to exalted status; physical, mental and spiritual.
The background colors may represent to you the three doshas or the three gunas and bespeak of the complications of life, the leela, a design that is different for each individual and that ultimately gives the life messiness, color and some level of interest.
A white background of the site itself and clean lines and colors were chosen to be reminiscent of an open temple, a place for connecting things.
The name of the site, AyurAstro, comes from the overriding theme of Ayurveda and Astrology, notably Ayurvedic Astrology, that unites the acts of Yoga, Sanskrit, and Cooking as well.
Please note that all Sanskrit words are italicized and that links to definitions are forthcoming.

Hi Louise,
Love this website–the colors are very open, soft, and gentle. I particularly like the pink, white, and yellow colors and the little bit of aqua. Aqua or green or blue would go better for me than lavender. Just my preference.
I am excited about your website and it was a delightful surprise to see you are more than just an Aryuveda herb lady and combine yoga with your practice, too.
I particularly love and respect Osho’s writings and felt a sense of something–excitement, wonder, synchronicity, auspiciousness–don’t know the right word–when I discovered his name here.
With gratitude.
Warmly,
Sharon
