About Ayurvedic Astrology

Vedic Astrology, also known as Jyotish, on which Ayurvedic Astrology is based, is an ancient form of looking for wisdom from the skies.

It is “the eye of the Vedas”.

The primary differences from Western astrology are a precessed zodiac (the one we actually see in the sky), the inclusion of primarily visible planets, and a system of measuring times of subinfluences (dashas) that is highly predictive.

I remember when I first saw a kundali or Vedic Astrology square. Hart had just put an empty one up on the board in an advanced class that he let me sit in when I didn’t know anything.

I said to myself, “Yep, this is it. This is what I have been waiting for [to study].”

My birth family has always been fairly into Western Astrology but I resisted, being the science-y one in the family.

Now I get most of my knowledge, most of my comfort, most of my ideas, and most of my courage from the stars, along with from my loved ones.
