Vāstu Maṇḍala

Lay the vāstu-puruṣa on your own ground. Find the two norths, the Sun’s and the compass’s; draw Varāhamihira’s 81- or 64-pada maṇḍala over your plot with all forty-five gods, the sūtras and atimarmas and the man himself; then place your door, shrine, kitchen, water, beds and stairs — on one floor or several — and read every placement against the Bṛhat Saṁhitā, with modern practice kept apart, and a list of what to do.
